Trier readies My Man The President

by

Going back to home-turf after several international co-productions, Lars von Trier has put on hold the third part of his US trilogy Washington to direct the Danish comedy My Man The President which Trust Film Sales already pre-sold to 13 territories at the last AFM, based on Trier’s household name and a long treatment of his script.

His new project with the working titleMy Man The President is the story of an owner of an IT firm who wants to sell up. The trouble is that when he started his firm, he invented a non-existent company president to hide behind when unpopular steps needed taking. When potential purchasers insist on negotiating with the ‘president’ face to face, the owner has to take on a failed actor to play the part. The actor suddenly discovers he is a pawn in a game that goes on to sorely test his (lack of) moral fibre.
