Pierre Drouot takes charge of VAF
Pierre Drouot officially takes charge of Flemish Audiovisual Fund, replacing Luckas vander Taelen, removed from the job several weeks ago after disagreements with the council of administration (read news).
Far from being a new arrival, Pierre Drouot was consultant for VAF, advising on production and responsible for workshops. A perfectly bilingual Francophone, he studied in Flanders, before joining Ritss (equivalent of the INSAS in the Flemish region) where his films which were co-directed with Paul Collet gained an audience in Flanders. But it was Toto The Héro by Jaco Van Dormael which brought him most renown as producer and public and critical success.
Combining strong artistic choice with an accomplished professionalism, Pierre Drouot, thanks to his knowledge of the Francophone film milieu, represents also the ideal middle-man for the Francophone institutions.
