The Cinema Commission backs nine films

Nine feature films, acknowledged to be of cultural interest, will receive financing by the Cinema Commission of the Cultural Ministry’s General Direction for Cinema : Madre e ossa by Alessandro Capone, (1.87m euro); 1 su 2 by Eugenio Cappuccio (1.88m euro); A casa nostra by Francesca Comencini (1.87m euro); Civico zero by Citto Maselli (464,000 euro); Roma the movie by Iginio Straffi (1.88m euro); La masseria delle allodole by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani (1.88m euro); Tris di donne e abiti nuziali by Vincenzo Terracciano (2.07m euro); Non pensarci by Gianni Zanasi (640,000 euro, for production only); and La brigata Tigre by Jerome Cournau (960,000 euro, excluding financing for foreign sales).

The Commission furthermore deemed eight debut films to be of cultural interest during meetings held last November 21-22. The approved films are: Quell'estate by Tommaso Avati (650,000 euro); Vieni a casa mia by Andrea Molaioli (800,000 euro); Terapia Roosvelt by Salvatore Vittorio Muscia (500,000 euro); Amaroamore by Francesco Henderson Pepe (400,000 euro); La guerra del maiale by David Maria Putortì (700,000 euro); Piede di Dio by Luigi Sadiello (700,000 euro); Capital by Umberto Spinazzola (450,000 euro); and documentary film Forse Dio è malato by Franco Taviani (300,000 euro).

During the same meetings, the Commission also agreed to bankrolling the following short films, with a contribution of 40,000 euros each: Time killer by Silvia Saraceno; Giornalieri (documentary) by Riccardo Paletti; No smoking company by Edo Tagliavini; Junkeeter (documentay) by Sebastiano Tecchio; 1978 by Francesca Cappucci; Sangre de perro by Leonardo D'Agostini; Back to Sarajevo (documentary) by Alan K Night; Leo e Gebedia (animated film) by Giorgio Croce Nanni; and Il dono dei magi by Gianni Quaranta. 39,200 euro in financing have been approved for Prova d'amore by Fabio Mureddu.
