Six films aided by Paca region

While the professionals met in conclave at the Vendôme festival which explores till Sunday the film creation aided by collective territories (read the news), the region PACA (Provence- Alpes - Côte d'Azur) has awarded 570 000 euros of aid to six features. Launched in 2003, this aid of 1,9 M € in 2004 is among the most promising in France with new Studios in Marseille added to the Victorine at Nice, without forgetting the benefits of the seaside and inland area which puts the region in second place nationally for shoots.

Among the films aided are highly anticipated French films from the 2006. 75 000 euros was attributed to the company Les Films Pelléas for Hors de Prix by Pierre Salvadori, currently shooting with Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh (readarticle). And the same amount was accorded to Le héros de la Famille by Thierry Klifa with Catherine Deneuve, Emmanuelle Béart, Gérard Lanvin, Miou Miou and Géraldine Pailhas, a French-Italian co-production (85 % for SBS Films, 15% for Edelweiss Production) already aided by Eurimages to the tune of 400 000 euros.

Three films which have an Advance on Receipts from the National Film Centre (CNC) have been selected by the Paca region. 140 000 euros was voted for L’été Indien by Alain Raoust (Sunday Morning Productions) who won the prix Fipresci at Locarno in 2002 with La Cage, 130 000 euros was given to Dans La vie by Philippe Faucon (produced by Istiqlal Films ) whose last work La trahison [+see also:

will be released on the 25th January 2006 in theatres by Pyramide, and 20 000 euros went to Jean-Paul Fargier for Jour après Jour, a production from Ex Nihilo which was the last screenplay by filmmaker Jean-Daniel Pollet, who died in September 2004. Finally the regional funds at Paca gave 130 000 euros to Commentaire d’amour by Jean-Marie Besset and Gilbert Desveaux (Mact Productions), a film adaptation of a successful theatre piece by the pair in 2000.
