The best of "The documentary of the month" in Barcelona
To celebrate their first anniversary distributing documentaries via CinemaNet Europe in Spain, Parallel40 has set up the "Mostra, the documentary of the month". It runs from the 16th until the 22nd of December with the best documentaries released during 2005 at the Cinemas Verdi in Barcelona. Kief Davidson, co-director of The Devil’s Miner, Rogier Kappers, co-director of Lomax the Songhunter and Vincent Monnikendam, director of Souls of Naples, will be in Barcelona to present their films in person.
The upcoming films on the CinemaNet Europe are In Search of Mozart and his classic operas, in January, and Das Goebbels-Experiment, in February.
Founded in November 2004, CinemaNet Europe, the European distribution network for digital cinemas, is bringing documentaries to the big screen by transforming independent theatres across eight European countries into digital cinemas. These screens will receive films by satellite. More than 100 cinemas now have digital cinema technology. The participating countries are The Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, UK, Austria, France, Germany and Slovakia.
