Four films at the Panorama

Ireland's Neil Jordan, Iceland's Robert Douglas, Australia's John Hillcoat and Britain's filmmaking duo Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe are going to showcase as world or European premieres at Berlin’s Panorama Section (9-19 February) their latest work produced or co-produced in the UK.

The most established among those filmmakers, the Irish writer/director Neil Jordan will present Breakfast on Pluto [+see also:

, the story of a young travestite in search of his mother for which the Irish rising star Cillian Murphy has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award. The film is produced by Neil Jordan, Stephen Woolley, Alan Moloney and sold by Pathe International .
The Proposition, a UK/Australian co-production starring Guy Pearce, Emily Watson and Ray Winstone is an unconventional western set in 1880s Australia which just won the Best Film, Best Music (by Nick Cave who also wrote the screenplay) and Best Cinematography (by French Benoit Delhomme) awards at Sydney’s Inside Film Festival. The film is sold by The Works .

Brothers of The Head is the debut feature film of Keith Fulton and Louis Pepe who made the celebrated documentary film Lost In La Mancha. Scripted by Tony Grisoni (Tideland [+see also:

) and produced by Simon Channing-Williams (The Constant Gardener [+see also:

), the film is the story of conjoined twins Tom and Barry Howe who are thrown into the music world and rapidly appropriate their status as ‘freaks’ to become hard-rock sensations. The film is sold by Hanway Films.
Finally Eleven Men Out by Icelandic innovative filmmaker Robert Douglas is an Icelandic/Finnish/UK co-production about a professional football player who admits he is gay. The film is sold by French sales company Scalpel Films.
