EAVE appoints new CEO

The beginning of 2006 marks a new phase to EAVE - European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs – with the appointment of Alan Fountain to the position of Chief Executive.

Alan Fountain was one of the founding Commissioning Editors at Channel Four Television. He subsequently became Head of the Northern Media School and more recently Professor of Television Studies at the Middlesex University. Replacing Catherine Buresi, who ran EAVE for four years, Mr Fountain praised the work of the former CEO. “I am delighted to step into a strong situation and to have the opportunity to contribute to the next phase of EAVE’s work. It is perhaps more important than ever to have strong independent producers throughout the expanded European Union.”

EAVE, is one of the leading media training workshops in Europe focusing on producer training for some 50 participants each year. The 2006 training programme will take a start in Luxembourg (March 3-10) with workshop 1 gathering 53 producers from 16 European countries. Workshop 2 will take place in Krems, Austria (June 23-30) and the final workshop will be held in Tallinn, Estonia in autumn 2006.
