Celluloid picks up Sundance latino hit

Paris-based sales company Celluloïd Dreams has just added to its already attractive Berlin line-up Richard Glazer and Wash Westmoreland´s Quinceanera, which picked up both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the recent Sundance Film Festival.
The film, which had its first screening at the 14Plus Kinderfilmfest section Berlin yesterday, is the story of two Hispanic teenagers in Los Angeles who run away from their families and find refuge at an old uncle’s house. The filmmaking duo’s previous film Fluffers was screened in the Panorama section at the 2000 Berlin Film Festival.
Last Friday, Celluloid Dreams was one of the few privileged sales companies to receive a visit to their stand from German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Cultural Minister Bernd Neuman, Berlin Festival director Dieter Kosslick and European Film Market Director Beki Probst.
