Animation and digital media discussed in Vigo

CARTOON, the Brussels-based European Association of Animation Film, will hold its first Masters programme of 2006, a three day seminar on animation and new digital media, in Vigo, Spain from April 20–22.
Placing the emphasis on digital globalisation, this Master class will evaluate the great technological changes made not only through High Definition television, but also with the entry of new operators in the emerging market of television and mobile platforms. Bringing together specialists from three main fields (High Definition, Television of the Future and Special Visual Effects), the conferences will be accompanied by two sessions devoted to screenings of 3D shorts and Renaissance, a futuristic, black and white thriller produced by animation company Attitude Studio (France).

Upcoming Masters organised by CARTOON are "Finance Barcelona: Budgeting and Financing in co-production contracts" (June 22-23, 2006) and "Feature Potsdam: Improving funding and exposure of animation features" (October 26-28, 2006).
