Two New Awards for Jan Cvitkovič's Gravehopping

At the 4th Spirit of Fire film festival in the Siberian city of Khanty Mansysk (February 25-March 3) Jan Cvitkovič's Gravehopping received two awards: the Silver Taiga for the second best film in competition and a special jury award for the most impressive scene in a film.

Gravehopping had its world premiere on September 2005 at the 53rd San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it received the prestigious Altadis - New Directors Award for a best first or second film. At home in Slovenia, it garnered almost 20,000 admissions.

On March 10, Gravehopping will be released in Spanish cinemas. by Alta Classics.

It will also be shown this month at the Sofia International Film Festival (Bulgaria) and Mar de la Plata (Argentina), as well as at festivals in Copenhagen (Denmark), Vilnius (Lithuania), Bradford (UK), Belfast (Ireland) and Bangladesh.

Gravehopping was produced by Ljubljana’s Staragara production company and co-produced by Propeler Film from Zagreb and Slovenian National Television. It was financially supported by the Slovenian Film Fund and the Croatian Ministry of Culture and stars Gregor Baković, Drago Milinović, Sonja Savić, Mojca Fatur, Brane Grubar and Nataša Matjašec.
