The 21st Osnabrück Independent Film Festival (October 11-15 2006) is ready to start going over submissions.

This year, the ECFF (European Coordination of Film Festivals) festival member is emphasising socially and culturally committed filmmaking and the importance of tolerance between nations through the presentation of films that analyse behaviour and the views different people have of themselves and of others under the theme "European conflicts, European solutions". Works of fiction and documentaries presented in the main sections – "Beware of Peace!", "Children's Rights Issues" and "International Short Film Programme" – should aid in illustrating this vast topic. The festival also has a new section, "East meets West", dedicated to the new EU member states.
