"Medusa Film is very disappointed to not be able to distribute the film to coincide with the festival", said Paolo Pozzi, the distribution director of the company, which also produced the film with Fandango, "but we found out at the last minute the film would be in competition. The director is preparing a print for the competition and doesn't think that it will be ready for the film's theatrical launch as well".
The publicity that can come from participating at the prestigious festival is what set off the controversy: "There has been an obvious anomaly, which has already happened but we hope can be corrected ", said Paolo Protti, president of ANEC (National Association of Film Exhibitors).
