A touch of Wagner

Spring brings with it a newcomer to the film funding arm of the German Federal Department for Culture and Media (Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien). On the recommendations of the BVR (Bundesverband Regie), the national association for German directors, Minister of Culture Bernd Neumann appointed director Christian Wagner.

Wagner, whose recent film Warchild (2005) won him awards at the Bavarian Film Festival and will be released this autumn, also directed Waller’s Last Walk (Wallers letzter Gang, 1989). He has also won several awards at German film festivals and at Cannes (Special mention – Caméra d'Or). Alongside his work as a director, he lectures at the Ludwigsburg Film Academy.
