Commenting on the acquisition, Versus Entertainment’s Adrian Guerra said: “We are excited to bring Frostbite to Spain, a movie that we believe is destined to become a cult film among horror lovers”. The first market screening of Frostbite in Cannes will be on May 20.

The NonStop Sales team in Cannes – Michael Werner, Judith Toth and Karin Thun – have another two films that will have their market premiere: New York Waiting, an English-language film by first-time writer/director Joachim Hedén, which recently screened at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival. The story of a first meeting and a second chance was produced in the US by Way Feature Films, in co-production with Sweden’s Sonet Film, which will distribute the film domestically next autumn. The second title, Comrade Pedersen by renowned Norwegian filmmaker Hans Petter Moland (Aberdeen), is one of the top grossing Norwegian films of 2006 with almost 180,000 admissions to date.

The third film on NonStop Sales’ slate is Nina’s Journey, a Swedish/Polish drama written and directed by Lena Einhorn, based on the true story of the director’s mother’s experience in the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII. The film, which won Best Film and Best Screenplay at this year’s top Swedish Guldbagge Awards, will have its first market screening today at the Star Cinema.
