Haneke to shoot remake of Funny Games
Austrian director Michael Haneke’s next film will be a French/UK/US co-production: an English-language remake of his own Funny Games (1997).
With Naomi Watts heading the bill, the film will recount the ordeal of a family on holiday that is taken prisoner by a couple of psychopaths and will be produced by the UK’s Tartan Films (UK distributors), France’s Celluloid Dreams (also handling international sales) and US outfit Halcyon Pictures, which recently opened an office in London.
