Kutin’s project, Lara, presented by Bela Film, tells the story of a woman who retraces the her life the day of her 60th birthday as she watches her son, a famous pianist, at a gala concert, and thinks back to her own never-achieved ambitions to become a famous pianist. Kutin has already written and directed a short film and is currently working on several shorts in Slovenia and Croatia.

Besides financially backing the film’s presentation at the Cannes Film Market, the MEDIA program will also give Bela Film €20,000 to seek out the co-production partners necessary to making the film.
