FESTIVALS Germany

Rome reserves a day for Germany

by

For its first edition, the Rome Film Festival, directed by Giorgio Gosetti, will dedicate an entire day to German cinema on October 17 - an event expected to strengthen and promote collaborations between the Italian and German film industries.

This German Day - similar to the recent German Film Festival organised in Rome - features several titles as part of the official programme, as well as the presentation of five new German films to international buyers at a theatre in the city's Via Veneto area.

Young filmmakers will also not be forgotten, and will have a chance to discuss their projects with producers and distributors at the New Cinema Network.

As this last initiative shows, Rome is looking to the future. A meeting will be held on October 18 to discuss all types of possible collaborations - not only co-productions - between Italy and Germany through case studies and workshops.
