Wenders visits Bari

The master of German cinema, Wim Wenders, will be in Bari on July 19 for CinemadaMare, the travelling, international festival of digital cinema.

Over 100 young filmmakers will attend, hailing from Italy, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, the UK, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Holland, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the US (special guests will be colleagues from Iran and Iraq, creative minds from systematically destroyed lands).

Starting from San Potito Sannitico, in the Campania region, the event is travelling through all of Italy’s southern regions and offers open-air screenings to audiences, Q&As with prestigious guests and, each afternoon (from 3-8 pm), a workshop with film lessons, analyses and commentary on the great films of Italian cinema. In Bari, Wim Wenders will meet with audiences in Piazza Mercantile before the screening of Wings of Desire.

CinemadaMare also features a competition of over 150 films, selected from among 800 titles submitted to festival organisers from every continent and judged by a jury of amateurs.

After Puglia, Cinemadamare will in Basilicata, Matera and Rotondella from July 20-26; in Calabria, in Corigliano (Cosenza) from July 27-August 2; in Sicily, in Acireale (Catania), from August 3-9; and will end on August 15 in Nova Siri (Basilicata).
