FESTIVALS Switzerland

Swiss animation in the spotlight at Hiroshima

by

The event is unprecedented. The 11th Hiroshima International Film Festival (August 24-28) will feature no less than 90 Swiss films.

Forty films from 1970 to 2006 are included under the banner "The Art of Swiss Animation", with an in-house selection proposed by Lucerne’s Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst and retrospectives on Isabelle Favez, Gisèle and Ernest Ansorge, Claude Luyet and Georges Schwizgebel.

Three films will feature in international competition, including Banquise by Cédric Louis and Claude Barras, already presented in competition at Cannes.
