Moretti acts for Fandango
Nanni Moretti is returning to the set, as an actor. He will play the lead in Caos Calmo (lit. “Calm Chaos”), based on the eponymous novel by Sandro Veronesi, winner of the most recent Premio Strega. Produced by Domenico Procacci for Fandango, the film will be directed by Antonello Grimaldi.
The novel tells of the tragic turning point in the life of successful manager Pietro Paladini whose wife dies one summer day. Moretti will also be involved in writing the screenplay of the film, which is scheduled to shoot next spring.
"I didn’t offer the role to Moretti", said Procacci. "It was he who proposed to act in it after reading the novel, whose rights we had bought upon its publication. Both Veronesi and I immediately liked the idea".
