Overcoming difficulties the Wosiewicz way

by

Leszek Wosiewicz (Crossroads Café) has made his new project Nie budźcie jej (lit. “Don’t Wake Up”) almost entirely without a script. The film, on which the director has been working since September 2005, is currently in the editing phase, but shooting is expected to last another few days.

At first glance, the film resembles Crossroads Café and it is also – as the director says in an interview – the story of a sort of salvation, an obsessive craving for love that is transformed into heightened sentiment. At the core of the narrative are a young musician getting over a suicide attempt and a runaway hiding out near a train station. Both characters are trying to overcome their difficulties.

Jacek Rozenek (Crossroads Café) and Monika Buchowiec (The Master by Piotr Trzaskalski) star. The film was made in HD by DoP Andrzej Ramlau (Crossroads Café, Show by Maciej Ślesicki) before being transferred to 35 mm. It is being scored by Michał Lorenc, one of Poland’s most well-known composers.

The estimated €250,000 Odysey Films production is due for completion near the end of this year, with a view to a possible world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2007.
