No legal problems for The Queen
Andy Harries and Christin Langan, the producers of Stephen Frears' The Queen [+see also:

film profile], screened this morning in competition at the Venice International Film Festival, deny any problems with the film’s release, as some had feared: "We don’t know of any legal action against us. There is no tradition of the royal family suing anybody or anything. Their position is one of being distanced from it. We live in a free country and the royal family is liberal. Besides, our film is not defamatory”.
