Telecom and Fox sign agreement to broadcast films on Internet

Yesterday, the Board of Directors of Telecom Italia unanimously approved the group’s reorganisation, i.e., the separation between land lines and mobile phones.

One effect of this change is the choice to invest in developing more services, especially in terms of broadband and content. Thus, Telecom signed an agreement with 20th Century Fox (part of magnate Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp Group) concerning film distribution on the Internet via Alice, Telecom's IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service.

Starting this month, all Alice home TV customers will be able to see, on demand, several very recent titles as well as classics from the 20th Century Fox library.

This agreement with 20th Century Fox could very well be the first stage of a wider collaboration that would include all attractive content, including, for instance, Fox TV’s most popular fiction programmes.
