, a Silver Lion winner at this year’s Venice Film Festival, is the Italian entry for the Oscar shortlist of five nominees in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

The commission – made up of eight producers, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, two critics, four artists (including director Ferzan Ozpetek and cinematographer Vittorio Storaro) – convened for the first time last Thursday, to meet with representatives of the nominated films, of which there were initially eight, then seven, after Gianni Amelio pulled his film The Missing Star [+see also:
