Strategies discussed at RomeFilmFest
An international meeting of strategic reflection on European film financing will be held on October 17 during the upcoming RomeFilmFest.
The first edition of the World Forum on Strategy and Finance for Cinema – organised by the Media Consulting Group for the festival and Cinecittà Holding, in collaboration with the VBL Law Firm – will be an important rendezvous for all those interested in the international film financing circuit: production companies, broadcasters, studios, distribution companies, national agencies, local institutes and investment firms.
“The European film industry has not yet become an actual market, despite the gradually growing efforts made by the countries and local institutions,” according to festival organisers. "The demand of creating new balances able to attract new investors to this ‘atypical market’ is getting stronger, hence allowing producers to combine productivity, creativity and profit".
The Forum is thus an opportunity for meeting as well as strategic reflection, and aims to take on topics such as public film financing, prospects for new investors and the possible strategies for a new, global European market.
Scheduled speakers include: Gaetano Blandini, General Direction of Cinema; Chris Brady, Film Business Academy; Alessandro Usai, Bocconi University; Michel Reilhac, ARTE France; Riccardo Tozzi, National Film Producers Association; Antonio Saura, producer; Robert Pisano, Motion Picture Association of America; Richard Fox, International - Warner Bros.; Olivier Courson, Studio Canal; Jonathan Davis, UK Film Council; Vincent Grimond, Wild Bunch; Roy A. Salter, The Salter Group; Riccardo Lupi, BNL; Laurent Vallet, IFCIC; Aviva Silver, MEDIA Programme; Giulia Rodano, Regione Lazio; Mario La Torre, Cinecittà Holding.
