La mémoire des autres: From Hamburg to Cairo
A Swiss production with an international career, starring Canada’s Marie-Josée Croze, France’s Julie Depardieu and Switzerland’s Nicolas Rossier, La mémoire des autres (Olympia Films) will open the Voilà section at the upcoming Hamburg Filmfest (October 5-12).
The debut feature by the Swiss director of Chilean origin Pilar Anguita-MacKay is also heading to California for the Mill Valley Film Festival (October 5-15), where it will be presented under the English title Moon on the Snow. It will also screen at the 30th Cairo International Film Festival (November 28-December 8).
This behind-the-scenes family drama, which the director calls "an exploration of the relativity and subjectivity of truth", reunites three siblings – already traumatized by the death of their father – at the bedside of their dying mother.
