Paris when it sizzles

by

- The subject of La Villette film review is "borders" and includes a selection of European classics

The 13th edition of Paris´ La Villette open-air film festival is scheduled to run from 16 July-25 August. This year´s theme is «Borders» both as the demarcation line between countries but also the difference between good and evil. The review, which is free to all comers, includes several world masterpieces like French director Alain Corneau´s Nocturne Indien and Belgian filmmaking duo, Luc and Jean-Pierre Dardenne´s La Promesse. In a separate move to encourage film attendance by a younger audience, the Town Hall of Paris and France´s arthouse and independent cinema association have cut ticket prices to all theatres of their circuit to just €3 from 15 July-27 August. This discount will be extended to all of Paris´ 372theatres for 24-27 August.
