(see focus) is the winner of this year's European Film Academy Documentary – Prix Arte, beating the other seven nominees (see news).

According to the jury – composed of Bulgarian director-producer Adela Peeva, German filmmaker Thomas Riedelsheiner and Polish producer Dorota Roszkowska – the film "touches on the mystic quality of belief and our need for stillness and silence in contrast to modern life. Into Great Silence is a great film about humanity and our shared European background".
