This year there will be a new award for Best Feature Script and contenders include Niklaus Hilber and Paul Steinmann (Hilber’s Cannabis); Andrea Štaka, Barbara Albert and Marie Kreutzer (Das Fraulein); Maya Todeschini, Christoph Schaub, Marcel Hoehn and Elisabeth Diot (Jeune homme [+see also:

by Schaub); Petra Lüschow and Stina Werenfels (Going Private by Werenfels), as well as Peter Luisi, Fredi M. Murer and Lukas B. Suter (Vitus).

Best Documentary nominees include Erich Langjahr’s Alpine Saga, Hippie Masala – Für immer in Indien (lit. "Hippie Masala: Forever in India") by Ulrich Grossenbacher and Damaris Lüthi, Ein Lied für Argyris by Stefan Haupt, Carla’s List by Marcel Schüpbach and The Short Life of José Antonio Gutierrez by Heidi Specogna.

There will also be two acting awards. Jean-Luc Bideau (My Brother is Getting Married), Stephanie Glaser (Late Bloomers by Bettina Oberli) and Michael Neuenschwander (Going Private) will compete for the Best Leading Actor Actress Award, while Natacha Koutchoumov (Pas de panique by Denis Rabaglia), Hanspeter Müller-Drossaart (Jeune homme) and Leonardo Nigro (Going Private) are nominated in the Best Supporting Role category.

Aside from Best Short and Best Animated Film awards, the jury will also give a special distinction to "a remarkable artistic contribution".
