by Fredi M. Murer (see Focus) has won the Audience Award at the 20th AFI - Los Angeles International Film Festival, which ended on November 12. No less than 77 films were in the running for the prize, awarded to producer Christof Neracher.
b With this new win and the Audience Choice Award won in October at the 42nd Chicago International Film Festival, Vitus looks likely to be chosen as one the five finalists nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, which will be announced at the end of January.
