10/07/2002 - A member of Eurimages since 2002, the Baltic Republic is MEDIA´s 27th associate

The Latvian ambassador to the EU signed a letter of understanding at the Karlovy Vary festival making his country the 27th member of the European Union´s MEDIA Plus Programme and making his country´s filmmakers eligible to receive EU grants.
Bruno Ascuks, the managing director of the Latvian Film Centre said that four projects had already been presented while the first film that will actually receive money is Aki Kaurismaki´s Honey Baby a German-Finnish co-production and scheduled to go into production early next year in Latvia.
