Admissions on the upswing
SIAE (Italian Publishers and Authors Association) data on the first semester of 2006 has reported that the overall box office earnings in Italy were €326m, a 14.38% increase on the same period in 2005 (€285m).
According to the association that handles authors’ rights, this rise in box office corresponds to an increase in admissions: +7m with respect to 2005.
These figures are the result of the “flight from TV” that was also recently confirmed by Auditel, the company that gathers information on television viewing figures.
