Rewarding originality
- Organized by the Belgium´s Royal Film Library, the «Age d´Or» Award takes place from 1-16 July
Organized by the Belgium´s Royal Film Library, the 2002 edition of the «Age d´Or - Golden Age» Award is scheduled to take place from 1-16 July in the House of Film in Brussels. Created in the 1970s as a tribute to Spanish film director Luis Buñuel, the award is given to the most original ground-breaking and non-conformist international feature.
As the title suggests, the festival´s «Ciné-Découverte - Film Discovered» award will go to the best feature that has yet to be distributed in Belgium and this year´s selection of 23 films include several from Finland, Austria and Germany as well as Ermanno Olmi´s The Profession of Arms, Claire Denis Trouble Every Day and Olivier Assayas´ Demonlover.
