film profile] are vying for the title of Best French Film of 2006 and dominate the list of films selected for the 2007 Cesars announced today.

However, Pascale Ferran’s auteur film Lady Chatterley [+see also:

film profile] will also put up a fight for the prestigious title. The film is hot on their heels with nine nominations, including a double nomination for Marina Hands, who is nominated for Best Female Newcomer and in the Best Actress category, where she faces tough competition from Cécile de France, Catherine Frot and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The trophy for Best Actor will be fought out among Michel Blanc, Alain Chabat, François Cluzet (also nominated in the Supporting Role category), Gérard Depardieu and Jean Dujardin. Xavier Giannoli’s The Singer [+see also:
