Fanny Ardant in rush hour in Rome
by Camillo de Marco
Fanny Ardant is the female lead in the new film by Vincenzo Marra, L´ora di punta (lit. “Rush Hour”), shooting of which began recently in Rome.
The French actress plays Caterina, a beautiful, sophisticated and very rich woman who helps out a much younger man (Michele Lastella), an unscrupulous agent of the Revenue Guard Corps who decides to climb to the top of the world of high finance. Giulia Bevilacqua is the young actress who competes with the captivating Caterina for the young man’s love.
Tilde Corsi and Gianni Romoli of R&C Produzioni are producing Marra’s third feature (after Sailing Home and Vento di Terra [+see also:
film profile]) in association with RAI Cinema and with a contribution from MiBAC.
After the eight-week shoot of L´ora di punta wraps, Ardant will return home to prepare her directorial debut Cendres et sang (produced by Princes Films), a drama she wrote and in which she will play a woman whose return from France to her native Eastern European country for a wedding sets off old family feuds.
