Cartoon Movie ready for business

Five hundred European animation professionals will meet in Potsdam from March 7-9 to attend Cartoon Movie 2007, the European animation forum.

Held for the ninth consecutive year by the European Association of Animation Film – and supported by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, the Brandenburg Minister of Economy, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, FFA and ILB – the forum aims to inject dynamism into the funding and distribution market of animated film on a European level. Forty-two projects worth almost €300m will be presented at the event.

French films are out in force (14 projects), while there are twice as many German projects as last year (13 this year). Other countries represented are Spain (7), Denmark (5) and the UK (3).

Of these 42 projects, nine have already been completed, released in cinemas or screened at several successful festivals, such as French directing duo Serge Elissalde and Grégoire Solotareff’s U [+see also:
