Exit makes NonStop tick

NonStop Sales has registered brisk business on Swedish filmmaker Peter Lindmark’s thriller Exit, starring Mads Mikkelsen. Already picked up at the last AFM by Galileo for German-speaking territories, the film has also been sold to Ninety Seven Distribution for French-speaking territories and to Greece (Rosebud).

According to sales executives Michael Werner and Judith Toth, the film is also in final negotiations with Poland, Australia and China and has attracted strong interest from the US.

Cold Trail, another thriller in NonStop’s EFM line-up, has been picked up by ZDF for Germany while China (HGC Entertainment) has acquired the animated films Desmond and the Swamp Barbarian Trap and The Emperor’s Secret.

, the Swedish feature debut by Johan Kling, which won the Nordic Film Award at the last Göteborg Film Festival, has also attracted a lot of interest, but NonStop will wait for Cannes to screen it to buyers.

Another new pick-up announced at the beginning of the EFM, the gangster drama Pistoleros by the Danish director of Dark Angel, Shaky Gonzalez, will also be launched at Cannes.

“The EFM is always a fantastic and key market for us”, stressed Werner. The company, which has had good results last year with Anders Banke’s vampire film Frostbite [+see also:

, has added the English-language film A Simple Love Story to its slate. The romantic thriller will start principal photography on March 19 and will be directed by Greek-born Dimittri Vorris and produced by Metaphor Film in Greece.
