film profile] (lit. “Night Before Exams Today”) performed exceptionally well in its first five days at the box office, grossing almost €6m with a per screen average of €7,757 on the 604 screens monitored over the weekend by Cinetel.

The overall figures announced by 01 Distribution confirm that Fausto Brizzi’s film took in over €6.2m from 715 screens nationwide.

Already on its first day of programming (St. Valentine’s Day) the "newquel" (as the director calls it) to Night Before Exams [+see also:

film profile] (2006) proved it could become as big a hit as its predecessor.

Produced by the same team behind the first sensation (Fulvio and Federica Lucisano for I.I.F. Italian International Film, Giannandrea Pecorelli for Aurora and RAI Cinema), the film stars Nicolas Vaporidis – who has become a true idol to young fans – Carolina Crescentini, Giorgio Panariello, Serena Autieri, Eros Galbiati, Andrea De Rosa, Sarah Maestri and Chiara Mastalli.

Second place at this week’s box office goes to Night at the Museum (Fox) with €1.3m and third to Hannibal Rising [+see also:
