- EFA announces the list of titles selected to compete in the 2002 European Film Awards, including the latest from Roman Polanski, Ken Loach and François Ozon

The European Film Academy in Berlin announced a list of films, from which the nominees for this year's European Film Awardwill be picked up. Beginning of November the members of the EFA will choose the nominees. The ceremony for this year's European Film Award will be held the 7th December in Rome.
Among the films there is Heaven by Tom Tykwer and Halbe Treppe by Andreas Dresen, Nirgendwo in Afrika by Caroline Link Bella Martha by Sandra Nettelbec and the Pianist by Roman Polanski, that received this year's Palme d' Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Other films suggested include Hable Con Ella by Pedro Almodovar, 8 Femmes by Francois Ozon, Bloody Sunday by Paul Greengrass, Lundi Matin by Otar Iosseliani, Sweet Sixteen by Ken Loach.
