De Rivaz shoots Luftbusiness
Principal photography on Dominique de Rivaz’s new feature Luftbusiness kicked off in Luxembourg a few days ago.
The Swiss filmmaker, who won the Swiss Film Prize for Best Feature in 2004 with My Name is Bach, will work once again with producers Jean-Louis Porchet and Gérard Ruey of CAB Productions (Switzerland), as well as Iris Productions (Luxembourg), German-speaking Swiss broadcaster SF and French/German broadcaster ARTE.
Scripted by de Rivaz and Antoine Jaccoud, the film tells the story of three marginalised characters who auction their most expensive possessions – one his old age, another his childhood and the third his soul – on the Internet.
The lead roles are played by Icelandic Shooting Star 2004 Tomas Lemarquis (Noi Albinoi), young Swiss actors Dominique Jann (Strähl) and Joel Basman (Cannabis, Breakout [+see also:
film profile]), who will star alongside well-known Swiss actors such as André Jung (Im Nordwind) and Roeland Wiesnekker, winner of the Swiss Film Prize for Best Lead Role in 2005 for his role in Strähl.
Luftbusiness is slated for a spring 2008 release.
