Qué viva Mauricio Demierre continues festival circuit
After screenings at the Locarno and Havana film festivals, Stéphane Goël’s Qué viva Mauricio Demierre – y tambien la revolución (Climage) will be shown this month at the Movies That Matter – Amsterdam Amnesty International Film Festival (March 14-18), the Montreal Human Rights Film Festival (March 23-29) and the Paris International Human Rights Festival (March 28-April 3).
The documentary evokes the tragic destiny of Swiss-born Maurice Demierre who went to Nicaragua to take part in the Sandinist revolution and was killed in an ambush held by the Contras in February 1986.
