- The Irish Film Board launches projects to incentivate Irish low-budget productions

In a move to encourage new Irish talent, the Film Board has announced two production projects. The first has the self-explanatory title of Low Budget and targets producers and directors with projects budgeted at €1m, 40% of which the producer will have already found and thus be eligible to apply to the Film Board amounts up to the outstanding 60%.
The second scheme entitled Micro Budget & Digital Development is aimed at people with innovative and experimental projects which they will be able to present for ulterior evaluation in film form, instead of on paper as is currently the tradition. Filmmakers will receive between €25,000 and €100,000 to shoot their «storyline» in DV.
