Mike Newell to work with Julia Roberts

Director Mike Newell has given the rising British star, Dominic West the opportunity to prove his talent against Julia Roberts in the upcoming romantic comedy, Mona Lisa Smile.
Produced by Columbia Pictures, filming is scheduled to begin in New York and Massachusetts in November. Mona Lisa Story is set in 1953 and is about a free-spirited Berkeley graduate who becomes a teacher at a women-only college in New England called Wellesley.
Audiences will remember Dominic West from Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, and, more recently in 28 Days where he starred opposite Sandra Bullock.
Newel, 60, achieved worldwide fame with his 1994 hit movie, Four Weddings And A Funeral and regularly alternates filmmaking in the UK and in the US. His recent directing credits include Donnie Brasco and Pushing Tin.
