Crimson Rivers flow again

by

- Following the international success of The Crimson Rivers, Luc Besson has written the screenplay and Olivier Dahan will direct the sequel

A sequel is planned to Mathieu Kassovitz’s 2000 hit The Crimson Rivers. This time around Benoît Magimel replaces Vincent Cassel as the investigator, while Jean Reno has signed on for the sequel entitled The Crimson Rivers 2. Luc Besson wrote the screenplay and Olivier Dahan (Déjà mort and La Vie Promise) will begin directing in January 2003 on location in Eastern France and Germany. Besson will also release The Crimson Rivers 2 in France through his Europa Corp with Studio Canal and Legend handling international distribution. Expectations are running high for Crimson Rivers 2, to be produced by Alain Goldman, after the first episode attracted over 4.3 million filmgoers worldwide and a gross box office take of Euros 30 million.
