by Spain’s Daniel Sànchez Arèvalo, including the Golden Violet for Best Film and the prizes for best actors and best actress at the Spanish Film Festival of Tolosa, the UAAR Award (an official parallel prize at Venice), the Grand Prix 2006 for best Euro-Asian movie at the Tallin Black Nights Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Angers Film Festival.

Venice Days will be held from August 30-8 September 8 and will offer a selection of premieres from the world over, with a structure that will remain approximately the same: 12 films plus tributes and special events. The European films selected will be competing for the Label Europa Cinemas Award for the promotion of cinema in Europe, established by the European network of quality traders, with support from Media Programme - Media Plus.

Films submitted for selection must be sent in by no later than July 6, 2007 and be international “firsts” outside their country of origin. For further information, please see the website (www.venice-days.com).
