film profile] (lit. “Crazy Blood”), the new film by Marco Tullio Giordana on the artistic and human arc of two actors from the Fascist era, Luisa Ferida and Osvaldo Valenti.
The new film from the director of The Best of Youth stars Monica Bellucci, Luca Zingaretti and Alessio Boni. Production will last 13 weeks and will later continue in Venice, Milan, Turin and Rome.
Based on an original screenplay written in 1985 by Tullio Giordana with Leone Colonna and Enzo Ungari, Sangue Pazzo tells the story of the renowned actors of Fascist cinema who were part of the Salò Republic and, accused of collaborating and torturing, were shot by the Partisans after the country was liberated.
The film, which will be released in Italy by 01 Distribution in spring 2008, and later broadcast on television, is a co-production between Angelo Barbagallo’s BìBì Film and French outfit Paradis Films, in collaboration with RAI Cinema and RAI Fiction.
The crew features many of Giordana’s usual collaborators, including DoP Roberto Forza, production designer Giancarlo Basili, costume designer Maria Rita Barbera, editor Roberto Missiroli, and sound editor Fulgenzio Ceccon.
