Rutelli: "The film reform in Parliament"

by

"As of next week we will take on film reform in Parliament,” promised Minister of Culture Francesco Rutelli this morning at the press conference for the presentation of Cinecittà Studio’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

Rutelli said that the proposed new film law developed by Members of Parliament Andrea Colasio and Vittoria Franco was presented just today. "There are other proposed reforms,” added the minister. "We will seek out a synthesis and the government will come up with integrative proposals by the end of May".

Rutelli spoke of two priorities for the film industry: resources and reforms. "We have found more public funds for cinema, after years of serious depression" he emphasised, specifying that the Senate’s €60m budget cut to the Visual Arts Fund (FUS) was only a technical error that will be remedied.
