will make its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival, 18-27 October 2007.

“It is both an honor and a great pleasure to debut Youth Without Youth at the Rome Film Festival. I have worked in Italy extensively, both in Sicily and in Rome, at Cinecitta," said Coppola. "This film represents a new period in my career, where I intend to make only personal films. I look forward to showing it at this new festival in Italy, whose great masters such as Rossellini, Fellini, Visconti, Pasolini and Antonioni inspired my early career.”

Coppola wrote, directed, and produced Youth Without Youth, adapting the screenplay from a novella by legendary Romanian author Mircea Eliade.

This film was conceived and completed independently. Coppola worked intensively in Romania for a year and a half, approaching Youth Without Youth with the fearless attitude of a daring, young filmmaker. Coppola calls Youth Without Youth his second first film after Apocalypse Now and The Conversation. It is his first film in a decade.

Youth Without Youth stars Tim Roth, Alexandra Maria Lara, Bruno Ganz, Alexandra Pirici, Marcel Iures and Andre Hennicke.

The film was a Euro-treaty co-production of SRG Atelier (Romania), Pricel (France), and BIM Distribuzione, and is presented by American Zoetrope. Pathé Pictures International will handle international sales. BIM Distribuzione will distribute in Italy and Sony Picture Classics will release the film in the U.S. and Canada in early December.
