Benelux Days at Annecy
The Annecy Animated Film Festival, taking place this week (see news), will focus on Benelux productions for its 31st edition.
Flanders Image is presenting over 20 shorts, while Wallonie Bruxelles Images has ten lined up. Two special programmes developed in collaboration with Holland Film and the Film Fund Luxembourg and two exhibitions can also be visited during the week. On Thursday at the Film Market, the "Benelux Workshop" will host co-production meetings, presentations and case studies on the three countries.
As part of the event, La Parti producer Philippe Kauffmann will be presenting Stéphane Aubier and Vincent Patar’s Panique au village, which after the adventures of Pic Pic and André see their Cowboy, Indien and Cheval take part in lengthier adventures. The feature debut was co-produced by Luxembourg’s Mélusine Production and French outfit Made In.
La Parti has other nice numbers lined up, in particular a feature composed of collective films illustrated by several well-known cartoonists, Peur(s) du noir (produced by France’s Prima Linea); Macrâle, a feature by Benoît Féroumont, screening in official competition along with his short Dji vou veu volti; and Jérôme Boulbes’ Nuages (co-produced by France’s Lardux Films and Luxembourg’s Mélusine).

film profile] from the slate of Artémis Productions. Five Belgian films will be taking part in the shorts competition, along with Benoît Féroumont’s film, Eric Ledune’s Déjà vu, Wendy Morris’ Bully Beef, Isabel Bouttens’ Absence and Pieter Vanluffelen’s Met mijn kwantorslag.
Blauwblauw by Sandy Claes will be screening in the Panorama section, while four other Belgian films feature in the graduation films category: Paul Jadoul’s Teleferic Voodoo, Roman Klochkov’s Administrators, Levi Tack’sZu Stramm and Johan Pollefoort’s Death's Job.
