Five films get export funding

The upcoming releases of five new Swiss films have received €46,180 from the distribution support programme launched earlier this year by the Swiss Federal Office for Culture (OFC) and the national promotion agency Swiss Films (see news).

The programme has awarded Kool Filmdistribution €5,000 for the German distribution of Ulrich Grossenbacher and Damaris Lüthi’s documentary Hippie Masala – slated for an August 30 release, while €10,000 has been granted to Fredi M. Murer’s Vitus [+see also:

Stefan Haupt’s Cantique pour Argyris – slated for a Greek release this autumn through Filmtrade – has been funded €11,180.

A sum of €10,000 went to Japanese distributor Uplink Co. for its November release of Marcel Schüpbach’s Carla’s List. The programme has granted an equivalent sum to French distributor Epicentre Films for its December release of Lionel Baier’s Stealth [+see also:

An annual sum of €181,300 is awarded for the theatrical distribution of Swiss films and majority co-productions abroad. Distributors can receive up to €25,000 per film and per territory.
